Faith Formation

The responsibility to pass on the Catholic faith to our children does not lie with the priest, teachers, or volunteer catechists.  It is above all the responsibility of the parents. Parents are the primary educators of the faith.  Oftentimes as parents we feel incapable of fulfilling this role and answering all the questions our inquisitive children have about God, Jesus and the Church. We want to help you be good teachers of faith. But in order to be good teachers we must know, live, and believe what we desire to teach. 

Family Catechesis is method of religious education that focuses on empowering, teaching, and encouraging parents to teach their own children about God, Jesus Christ, and His Church. 

Once a month we go to Mass as a family, eat a meal as a family, and learn our faith as a family. The morning includes break-out sessions by age group, including parents, who will find themselves hearing the same things as their children and learning how to reinforce, confirm, and support their child's growth in faith. Between sessions, children are given homework and parents are given the tools to help them complete these tasks. If you are interested, please contact our parish office (608) 754-8193. 

La responsabilidad de transmitir la fe católica a nuestros hijos no recae en el sacerdote, los maestros o los catequistas voluntarios. Es sobre todo responsabilidad de los padres. Los padres son los principales educadores de la fe. A menudo, como padres, nos sentimos incapaces de cumplir este papel y de responder a todas las preguntas que nuestros niños curiosos tienen sobre Dios, Jesús y la Iglesia. Queremos ayudarlo a ser buenos maestros de fe. Pero para ser buenos maestros debemos saber, vivir y creer lo que deseamos enseñar. La catequesis familiar es un método de educación religiosa que se enfoca en empoderar, enseñar y alentar a los padres a enseñar a sus propios hijos sobre Dios, Jesucristo y su Iglesia. Una vez al mes vamos a misa en familia, comemos en familia y aprendemos nuestra fe en familia. La mañana incluye sesiones separadas por grupo de edad, incluidos los padres, quienes se encontrarán escuchando las mismas cosas que sus hijos y aprenderán a reforzar, confirmar y apoyar el crecimiento de la fe de sus hijos. Entre las sesiones, los niños reciben tarea y los padres reciben las herramientas para ayudarlos a completar estas tareas.
